Below you can find more information on the respective projects. We are looking forward to seeing you! Wishing you all the best from the 15th district, ![]() Digital Ghost {Opening: 20.03.2026, 6-9pm} The exhibition project "Digital Ghost" brings together 6 artistic positions into a dialogue on the tension between the physical body – made out of flesh, bones, and fluids – and its digital traces – made up of extracted (with and without one's consent) data. The group of artists discusses, through the meeting of their works in kuntsverein's project space 8B®1, where contemporary embodied experience starts and technologies of digital memory-making end. By collectively imagining a figure that exists exactly in that liminal space, the group of artists, brought together by Evi Jaegle and Miao Fanping, constructs through the dialogue between their works the different facets of the "Digital Ghost": a character that we never see in the space but always feel its presence; a once-living body, whose decay may be suspended by its encapsulation in code. Curated by Miao Fangping and Evi Jäegle. This exhibition project was made possible through the support of the City of Vienna | Stadt Wien Kultur and the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media, and Sport of the Republic of Austria (BMWKMS). ![]() What is to live in a body under total digitization? {18.04.2026, 5pm} Situated within the framework of ”Digital Ghost,“ this talk addresses the body as it is continuously translated into digital traces, shaped by platforms that promise visibility, connection, and a form of persistence beyond the physical. What once functioned as a personal archive of memories—images, sensations, relations—becomes a dataset, fragmented and mediated, where the digital double emerges as an incomplete yet operative abstraction of the self. The talk questions whether being seen is a form of presence or framing, and how much agency one retains over this mediated body that can be reshaped or made to disappear. Post-Partum Clinic {Open Call Deadline: 30.04.2026} The post-partum clinic is a care experiment in the form of a week-long residency taking place right after the “end” of a project. It offers selected Vienna-based artists studio space, time and optional hands-on support to navigate the aftermath of their last creation. The residency, hosted by Claire Lefèvre with the support of other members of kuntsverein, will be tailored to the artist’s specific needs and organized around two main axis: artist care and post-production support. The post-partum clinic inspired by Claire Lefèvre’s "Performance Doula" practice: a project investigating care work and emotional labour within the cultural field, and applying artistic tools to tackle issues of sustainability, post-production support and burn-out prevention. You can find more information about the call on kuntsverein's website. This project is made possible through the support of the City of Vienna | Stadt Wien Kultur.
