SPLOT (Polish: braid, plait, entanglement) is a solo exhibition by Zosia Hołubowska that resists the notion of singular authorship in favor of an evolving ecosystem of collaboration, exchange, and mutual influence. Holubowska’s primary medium has been sound; however, in this case, they will show a new body of work based on crocheted structures and sculptures. It is the first time they will show this side of their practice.

Through immersive, polyphonic narratives, the exhibition braids issues that Hołubowska has been researching: symbiotic systems, embodied archives, and the healing potential of music. What connects these themes is the artist’s perspective, rooted in queer experience and post-imperialist, intersectional feminism. Hołubowska finds connections between more-than-human intelligence and somatic memories, between communal approaches to music and queer ecology, and expresses these commonalities through art that is tactile and visceral; through soundscapes and objects echoing traditional crafts.

Drawing on more-than-human perspectives, genetic and collective memory, and speculative storytelling, Holubowska engages with re-reading, inhabiting, and transforming the archival into a plastic yet fragile space of connection.

This exhibition project was made possible through the support of the City of Vienna | Stadt Wien Kultur. The production of the works was supported by Bildrecht. The artist would also like to thank Joanna, Claudia, Gui, and Misia for their support.

Digital Ghost
an exhibition project featuring works by Miao Fangping, Evi Jäegle, Daphne von Schrader, Jan Philip Barner, Kristina Cyan, Janne Charlotte
8B®1, Weiglgasse 8/B1/R1, 1150 Wien

{Opening: 20.03.2026, 6-9pm}
{Exhibition's Duration: 21.03.-18.04.2026}
{Finissage: 18.04.2026, 3-7pm}

The exhibition project "Digital Ghost" brings together 6 artistic positions into a dialogue on the tension between the physical body – made out of flesh, bones, and fluids – and its digital traces – made up of extracted (with and without one's consent) data. The group of artists discusses, through the meeting of their works in kuntsverein's project space 8B®1, where contemporary embodied experience starts and technologies of digital memory-making end. By collectively imagining a figure that exists exactly in that liminal space, the group of artists, brought together by Evi Jaegle and Miao Fanping, constructs through the dialogue between their works the different facets of the "Digital Ghost": a character that we never see in the space but always feel its presence; a once-living body, whose decay may be suspended by its encapsulation in code.

Curated by Miao Fangping and Evi Jäegle.

This exhibition project was made possible through the support of the City of Vienna | Stadt Wien Kultur and the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media, and Sport of the Republic of Austria (BMWKMS).
